What does workgroup mean? |
| Workgroups are groups of
employees. Doctors, nurses or professions allied to medicine may
represent separate workgroups, although a workgroup could be used to
represent employees at different locations. This option is available
only in the expert version of Tracker. |

| 2. |
How do I create a workgroup? |
| You need full access to the
options menu (your system administrator will give you access). From
the options screen, choose the workgroup tab and click on "Add
New Workgroup". Give the workgroup a name (e.g. Pam's). You may
give a description of the workgroup (optional). Click
"Add", to create the workgroup. Still in
"Options", you now need to click the "Users"
tab, click Pam's in the tree (Current Users) and allocate a user for
this particular workgroup who has the ability to look after that
database (bar allocating usernames). |

What does "Smart Tags" in
System Tables mean? |
You may wish to group
together some of the locations: e.g. Manchester, Bolton and Preston
to have a smart tag {NW Region}
Grades: e.g. Consultant, Trust Grade and Clinical Assistant to have
a smart tag {NTG} (Non-training grade)
or Specialities: e.g. Gastroenterology, Cardiology and Endocrinology
to have a smart tag {Medicine}.
"Smart Tags" allow you to do just that. |
| |
| 4. |
Why do I need "Smart Tags"? |
| You may wish in the report
generator to conduct a search for courses taken only in the
Northwest Region, or in a particular Deanery. Likewise you may wish
to know the expenditure not only by a particular grade, but also by
a group of grades (see above FAQ). |

How do I create "Smart
Tags"? |
| From the "Options
" screen click "System Tables" tab and choose a
desired table e.g. Grades. On the left side under current entries
highlight the name of a grade. When the text appears in the editable
field add a tag e.g.{NTG} at the end of the text, using curly
brackets, and click "Update". Do the same to other members
of the group. Always remember to click "Update" after each
individual editing. |
